A Hopkins County tradition since 1969
The World Champion Hopkins County Stew Contest brings cooking teams, cast-iron pots, open wood fires, and thousands of visitors together at Buford Park. The 2026 contest is the 57th annual event, with chicken and beef stew prepared throughout the grounds.
Public stew service begins at 10:45 a.m. Adult tickets are advertised at $8 for all-you-can-eat stew, and children age 12 and under eat free in 2026.

This is one of the busiest community weekends of the year in Sulphur Springs. Arriving before stew service begins gives you time to get oriented, walk the park, and take in the campsites before the main serving period.

Official Rules
2026 Dodd Realty Stew Contest Ticket Giveaway
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
1. Sponsor
The giveaway is sponsored by Dodd Realty, Sulphur Springs, Texas ("Dodd Realty" or "Sponsor").
2. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of Texas who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, agents, independent contractors, and members of the immediate household of Dodd Realty are not eligible. Sponsor may request reasonable proof of eligibility before awarding the prize.
3. Promotion period
The giveaway begins when this page is published and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on October 16, 2026. Entries received after the deadline are not eligible for the drawing.
4. How to enter
Submit the giveaway entry form on this page with your name and a valid email address and accept these Official Rules and the Dodd Realty Privacy Policy. Limit one eligible entry per person. Duplicate submissions do not increase the entrant's odds and may be consolidated or removed. No purchase, payment, Facebook follow, social-media share, tag, or other social-media action is required to enter.
5. Prize
One winner will receive four adult tickets to the 2026 World Champion Hopkins County Stew Contest on October 24, 2026. Based on the advertised 2026 ticket price of $8 each, the approximate retail value of the prize is $32. No cash alternative is offered. Sponsor will coordinate ticket delivery or pickup with the confirmed winner.
6. Random drawing and notification
One potential winner will be selected at random on October 17, 2026from all eligible entries received before the deadline. The potential winner will be contacted using the email address submitted with the entry. The potential winner must respond within 48 hours of the notification or may forfeit the prize, in which case Sponsor may select an alternate winner at random.
7. Odds and conditions
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Entrants are responsible for providing accurate contact information. The winner is responsible for any taxes or expenses not expressly included in the prize. Sponsor may disqualify entries that are fraudulent, automated, incomplete, or otherwise violate these rules.
8. Event changes and prize substitution
Dodd Realty does not organize or operate the Hopkins County Stew Contest. Event scheduling, admission policies, cancellation, or other event changes are controlled by the event organizer. If the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside Sponsor's reasonable control, Sponsor may substitute a prize of comparable value where permitted by law.
9. Facebook / Meta disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or Meta. By entering, entrants acknowledge that information is being provided to Dodd Realty, not to Meta, and release Meta platforms from claims arising from or related to this promotion to the extent permitted by law.
10. Privacy
Name and email information submitted for giveaway entry will be used to administer the promotion, verify eligibility, contact the winner, prevent duplicate or abusive entries, and maintain reasonable promotion records. Marketing communication is optional and is only requested through the separate unchecked marketing consent box. See the Dodd Realty Privacy Policy for more information.
11. General terms
Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, modify, or cancel the promotion if fraud, technical failure, unlawful activity, or other circumstances outside Sponsor's reasonable control materially affect the fair administration of the giveaway. Sponsor's decisions regarding eligibility and administration are final to the extent permitted by law.
